Charles L. Collins

President

Chuck founded the company shortly after graduating from Virginia Tech in 1977. As President and owner, he oversees the overall company direction.

Chas Collins

Director

Chas joined the company in 2017 after previous positions with various real estate investment firms. As Director, he analyzes return investment outcomes, proposes possible projects, and takes on real estate operations for Collins Contracting. He holds a degree in economics from Washington and Lee University and a master’s degree in Real Estate from Johns Hopkins University.

Matt Harrington

Project Manager

Matt joined the company in 2016 as Project Manager. His previous work experience includes working for Branch Construction and Vakos Companies. He holds dual degrees from Virginia Tech in building construction and real estate. Matt’s position requires him to ensure that jobs are completed on time and that they adhere to local guidelines. He also coordinates among various people and entities for project completion.

James “Jay” Mudd, III

Chief Estimator

Jay is responsible for the estimating and bid process, which includes communicating with clients, material logistics, and company logistics. He is also in charge of working with subcontractors and creating GPS machine grading models. Jay has been a member of the company since 2016. Prior to joining the company, Jay worked for Facchina Construction in Maryland. He is a graduate of Frostburg State University.

Barbara Self

Office Manager

Barbara has been a part of the company for over 36 years. As Office Manager, Barbara takes on almost all daily tasks needed to help maintain the company. She organizes all company records, assists with finances, as well as maintaining relations with subcontractors and project organization. Barbara is a graduate of The University of Mary Washington.

Danny S. Monroe, Sr.

General Superintendent

Danny joined the company after a 40-year career with various Northern Virginia contracting companies, most notably, American Infrastructure. As Superintendent, he manages day-to-day field operations on company sites. Danny has a vast knowledge of civil engineering, using his knowledge of over 40 years of experience to enhance our company’s abilities.
